January Newsletter – Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours
Of course our big news is the YORK TOUR HAS ARRIVED!!!! Yes, we begin our new York tour this month and boy, do we have some delicious food for you to try. Of course, the food is all made in Yorkshire BUT we have called upon the people from around the world who have made York their home to show us what they have got so we have some interesting new flavours for you to try. The tour will showcase five independents in the city which have made an impact on the local food scene in the last few years and we are sure you will enjoy them – we certainly enjoyed trying them all out for you! It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it! The even better news for you lot is that if you have been on one of our Harrogate Tours you can get a 10% discount off this tour. We’d love to see all of you again.

There are some new faces on the Harrogate Food and Drink scene. We are particularly enjoying Corner Haus where a warm welcome from Isla awaits you. Situated opposite Hales near to the Pump Rooms it is a great place to warm up after a walk through the Valley Gardens in January. Not just great coffee but a great range of Belgian – other beers are available – beers. Comfortable surroundings make for a fantastic place to curl up and while away the afternoon. Trust me, I have tried it out for myself!

Alex from Vanillis has finally taken a well earned break from serving up his delicious artisan ice cream and is hopefully enjoying ice of a different kind skiing on some pristine slopes somewhere and no doubt thinking up some more delightful flavours. We have called upon others to step into the breach while he is away and a huge thank you to both the Old Swan and Cold Bath Deli for helping us out and being so welcoming.

Our visitors have eaten good old Yorkshire Brack with their brew in the elegant surroundings of one of Harrogate’s grand old hotels, feeling the history and maybe the ghost of Agatha Christie! Cold Bath Deli too hosted us and we are delighted that after a year of being with us on Cold Bath Road, they are thriving and Tracey is still coming up with more and more delicious recipes. I tried the Mushrooms a la Greque salad today – divine!

With so many people trying new eating regimes in January including dry January and going vegetarian, we, of course, respect your choices but just remember
