In this time of national crisis, we hope to brighten your day with a look to the future. While we have had the odd cancellation due to the Corona Virus, as long as we are allowed to (no lockdown) and our guides are healthy, we are running the tours. We understand however that people are nervous so any tickets booked can be postponed as long as we know a few days in advance. We want to continue normality as much as we can and continue to support our local independents.
We do have not one, not two, but FOUR new tours to offer. For a long time we have wanted to offer Leeds and now we can, courtesy of our new partner Ellen, otherwise known as Nell. Nell is a Leeds local and is guide to all three Leeds tours. All take place in the City Centre so very easy to get to. The Leeds Local tour takes in the wonderful Kirkgate market – one of the largest undercover markets in Europe and Nell will tell you all about the history behind the food and the places you visit, good local scran! The Leeds Street Food Tour allows you to discover the wonderful street food scene. It really is another world altogether with some fantastic places in the heart of vibrant Leeds and some new tastes which will delight your senses. Visit two street food hubs with multiple tastings and find some great places to return to time and time again. Of course, Yorkshire Appetite had to go along and try them all – a tough job but someone had to do it and, blimey, what a world to discover – such great tastes and exciting places and we could not eat another bite afterwards – delicious! I urge you to check it out on our website and book yourself on.
The third Leeds tour is a Vegan Tour, already up and running and takes place on a Wednesday evening so all of you who have visited us on our Vegan Tour of Harrogate, keep an eye out – it will be on the website forthwith or contact us for more details.
Next to introduce is our first tour on wheels!!. We have teamed up with Mountain Goat Tours, a long established company running out of York with the very knowledgeable and likeable Lee as guide and driver. The tour is an all day tour taking in the oh-so-beautiful scenery of the North York Moors National Park and surrounds with four fantastic stops to meet local producers and taste their home produced wares. You will get to taste home grown and home-made cheeses, meats, ciders, cakes, apple liqueur (or juice) and discover the processes behind how they come to the table. We visit a self-contained village community producing their own cheeses amongst other delights, a farm with their own speciality sausages, the historic Black Swan in the beautiful town of Helmsley and an orchard in a very old but still very working Abbey. This is a private tour for ten plus people so if you are planning a special birthday or work outing or want to get together a group of foodies for a day out with a difference, do get in touch with us – dates and pick up spots are to your requirements.
So, our fellow foodies, look to the future, plan for what you would like to do, be brave, be strong and take care.
