Whitby Food Tour details

Details Coming Soon

Harrogate has a vibrant foodie scene, and our food tour champions independent restaurants sourcing ingredients from regional producers. You’ll discover the town’s exceptional flavours bite by bite.

One of our knowledgeable local guides will meet you at the first stop of your guided Harrogate Food Tour. They will act as your food ambassador for the day, taking you to five stops across our beloved spa town.

Your guide will sprinkle in historical facts as you wander from one tasting to the next on your Harrogate walking food tour. Like how Charles Dickens once commented on how the people of Harrogate loved “table d’hôte” (restaurants with a fixed price menu).

Starting in central Harrogate, you’ll move through the Montpellier quarter and end in the former Low Harrogate. With sweet and savoury stops along the way, you’ll indulge in everything from a modern twist on traditional food to luxurious, locally made gelato.

You’ll also stroll through the famous Valley Gardens before ending your food tour in Harrogate’s oldest pub with a tasting platter and drink.

Whether you’re a local or visitor looking for things to do in Harrogate town centre, our guided food tour is a celebration of the town’s rich culinary heritage and delights.

Food

A tasting plate is included at each stop. Together, they are the equivalent of a hearty lunch. We recommend having a light breakfast beforehand.

Drink

Our guests have shown us that not everyone shares the same thirst. Our Harrogate tour includes a drink at one stop, with tap water available at others. But there are opportunities at several stops to buy beverages to accompany your tastings.

Dietary requirements

We can cater for specific allergies and dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.

However, we cannot cater for all dietary or food preferences.

If you or someone in your party has an allergy, dietary requirement or food intolerance, please let us know on your booking form. You can also email [email protected].

Walking distance

You’ll walk approximately one mile, with one portion of the food tour uphill. One of the restaurants is also up a flight of stairs.

What to wear

You’ll be walking between each stop, so please dress for the weather. We recommend layers and comfortable footwear. You may also want to bring an umbrella and sunglasses for the unpredictable Yorkshire weather.

Parking and public transport

There are several car parks and parking areas in Harrogate town centre. The nearest to the meeting point is the Jubilee car park.

The starting point is easily reached by public transport. Harrogate Train Station is a 10-minute walk away, with many local bus routes also stopping nearby.

Minimum tour numbers

Due to rising operational costs, we have introduced a minimum tour size policy of four guests.

If your food tour has fewer than four participants, we will contact you one week before your selected date. You will have the option to pay a £50 supplementary fee to enjoy the tour as a private experience or reschedule to a different date with a larger group.

If someone books on your tour after you’ve paid the supplementary fee, we will get in touch with you to refund the £50.

If you have a foodie in your life, why not treat them to a gift voucher? Their taste buds will thank you.

You book the voucher, let them pick the date and destination.

If you’re redeeming one of our gift vouchers, pop the code in the form when you’re booking your food tour.

If you’re claiming a gift voucher from Virgin, Buy a Gift, Uniquely Local, Red Letter Days or Get Your Guide, please get in touch with us directly to arrange your booking. The vouchers cannot be claimed through our booking provider.

Please call 07960 240802 or email [email protected] to book your food tour.

If you can’t find a date that works for you, we offer private food tours

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, on a hen do or visiting Harrogate on holiday, we’ll tailor your food tour to you.
