TERMS AND CONDITIONS




Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours is the trading name of Kay Atkinson. By purchasing tour tickets from Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours and participating in their tours, you agree to the following terms and conditions and that on purchasing a ticket, you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions and waiver.


Cancellation Policy: Tickets

You may cancel your place on the tour up to 48 hours before the start of the tour.  We may be able to offer alternative days to attend depending on availability.  If you have purchased extra tickets by mistake or bank error, we need to be notified within 24 hours of the purchased ticket to qualify for a refund. No refund will be issued on the day or after your tour. When we may be forced to cancel a tour due to not meeting the minimum number of 2 participants to conduct a tour, weather conditions or other circumstances, your ticket will be refunded in full.


Cancellation Policy: E-Certificates and Gift Vouchers

E-Certificates and Gift Vouchers can be cancelled within 14 days from the day after the day they are received by the person who purchased them (not the eventual recipient). Should the recipient use the voucher or certificate and book a tour within these 14 days, then this right to cancel is then terminated. Please refer to the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2015.


Checking in:

During the automated purchase process with our third party booking system, you must review all booking details. These details are on the system and you can show the confirmation to your guide upon check in.


Arriving late:

Please note that tour guides are not allowed to wait for guests arriving late. Please make sure to make the necessary arrangements to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the tour. We are on a tight schedule with all the venues we visit.


Please note that trains and other forms of transport can be delayed or cancelled. So please check before you travel to make sure your route will be free. We cannot be held responsible for delays from public transport or other delays in your travel time that may make you late for our tours.


Minimum participants:

Please note that we conduct the tours with a minimum of 2 people. If the minimum is not met, we may cancel the tour and give alternative days to attend and or refund the tickets.


Weather Conditions:

We conduct tours rain or shine. You are advised to carry an umbrella and dress appropriately for weather conditions. If the tour has started, and in the event of severe lightning, your tour guide will suspend the tour at his or her discretion. If tour was suspended, you will be reimbursed for partial or full price of ticket depending on the time the tour was suspended. If the tour is suspended at the beginning of the tour, you will receive full payment. If tour guide did not suspend the tour due to rain, you will not get reimbursed for the tickets. You are responsible for yourself and your own safety.


Dietary restrictions:

If you have any dietary restrictions: please contact Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours before booking to see if it is possible to accommodate. You will be asked if you have any such requirements during the booking process. If Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours will be unable to accommodate these on the on the tour, they will reimburse full

payment.


Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours is not responsible for the food or beverages consumed on its tours. It acts solely as an agent in arranging tours, venue visits and other services and does not assume liability for accidents, delays, injuries, loss or damage due to any act or default of restaurant or shop or its employees.


Right to distribute media:

You agree to grant the company an irrevocable royalty free worldwide license to use photos and videos taken on its food tours in which you may appear. The company has the right to reproduce, distribute, broadcast, exhibit, edit, digitize or in any other way use the Material by any means and in any form of media, whether existing now or created later, without restriction worldwide, by incorporating the Material into its website, catalogues, books, brochures,, magazines, or any other publications, or any informational , commercial, promotional or advertising material (henceforth known as the works) you agree that the company is an shall be the exclusive owner of all title, rights and interest in the material and the works , including copyright thereof.


Waiver

By virtue of purchasing tickets for and or participating in the tours offered by Yorkshire Appetite Food Tours, the participant understands that he/she understands the following:

The participant desired to participate in one of the tours.

The participant is in good health and suffers from no minor or serious injury , illness or disability that would make them especially susceptible to injury or disability while participating on the tour.

The participant fully comprehends and accepts all of the risks associated with his her participation in the tours including, without limitation, exposure to unfavourable weather conditions, food sickness, injuries, and death.


Participants who partake in alcohol accept responsibility for their own transportation to and from the tour, and acknowledge that they will not drive impaired in any way. Participants acknowledge that they are aware that to drink alcohol on the tour they must be 18 years of age.



 

SUSTAINABILITY




We encourage all our visitors to travel by public transport where possible.   Our confirmation emails point out the proximity of public transport to the start of the tours and that using public transport will reduce CO2 emissions, be more comfortable and enjoyable and in the long run be cheaper and more efficient.


The tours are walking tours therefore do not contribute to CO2 emissions or congestion on the roads of our destinations.  Our company has an ethos that promotes independent and  local businesses  Our core values underpin the promotion of, and support for, the local community, local food and produce.  We promote food which is produced and sourced locally and therefore has limited carbon footprint.   We have a vegan tour offering which supports more sustainable lifestyle choices which have lower impact on the environment.


We also promote the local community by recommending local events, businesses and attractions. We often provide prizes for raffles which support local charities such as St Michaels Hospice.
