Happy Yorkshire Day
Great offers for Otley and starting your own enterprise

Why Yorkshire Day today? Well, it comes from back in t’day when we were Ridings. In 1974, the county was rearranged and part of East Riding was shoved out to Humberside and they were not happy. The Yorkshire Ridings Society decided to celebrate Yorkshire Day so people of ALL Yorkshire could feel part of it. The date was chosen as in honour of William Wilberforce, a Yorkshire MP, who campaigned for the emancipation of slaves as the Slavery Abolition Act was finally passed – on 1st August.
Here’s a couple of Yorkshire facts to keep you going – I was born the same year as Jelly Tots were first produced! (yes, they are that old) and Harry Corbett (Sooty and Sweep) was the nephew of Harry Ramsden (fish and chip icon) and sometimes played piano in his Guiseley restaurant on a Saturday). Well I never. More for the older generation these facts, noted.
We have some spaces available on our Summer Tasting Tour of Otley on 12th August and 2nd September. We held the first one this past Saturday and what a glorious event it was – the Mayor of Otley attended, beer flowed, gin was involved, not to mention a plethora of Otley produced delicious fare. So BOOK HERE for these limited edition tours, a great way to brighten up a Saturday!
Have you your own ideas for setting up your own food experience or tour? Do you need help with your plan for a side hustle. We offer a course which covers this very thing and can even be adapted to your particular experience. Our next workshop is running in September in Harrogate OR you can do the course online. It is that little push you need to get that business going and to keep that motivation needed to bring it to fruition. Have a look at OUR COURSE HERE and get in touch. If you live in or near Sheffield, we would be particularly interested to hear from you. Even non Yorkshire folk are warmly welcomed!
