We're embracing Black Friday!
November Newsletter

Now Halloween and Guy Fawkes night has passed us by, the next event on the horizon is Black Friday. Friday 26th November, once our American friends have recovered from their Thanksgiving, is where people take advantage of many an offer either for themselves or to tick some presents off their Christmas list. At Yorkshire Appetite, we have decided to get into the spirit of the day by offering some great offers for you. You can buy a gift voucher on our website with the code BLACKFRIDAY1 which will give you 10% off the price OR even better, you can book a place on one of our tours in 2022 using the code BLACKFRIDAY2 and get 15% off! The codes are valid from Midnight 25th November to Midnight 26th November so take advantage!
Our new tour in Otley is now being offered on the same basis as our other tours. We no longer require a minimum of 4 to run it and we are offering it on Wednesdays and Thursdays so hope to see some of you in the New Year. Otley is a great little market town between Harrogate and Leeds where they have had a market for over 800 years, yes, 800 years! The market is still on three days a week and the market tradition has meant the town is home to several artisan food producers whose produce is greatly enjoyed by the locals.
As you know, we are a great lover of food tours at Yorkshire Appetite and so recently we tried out another UK food tour. It was my first time in Newcastle, I have been through it on the train and past it on the A1, but never actually visited and my daughter and I had a lovely old time. We booked a couple of spots on the Triple A Food Tour of Newcastle and were met by our guide Andrew by a central landmark and guided first to the market, where we enjoyed some local beer and a rather fascinating little Indian dish called pani puri. It was something that we had never tried before (the pani puri, not the beer!) and was an explosion of taste in the mouth. Another stop had us enjoying the delicious combination of two or my favourite foods; beetroot and goats cheese! The final tasting of three puddings and three dessert wines was exquisite, my cup ranneth over at that point! It was quite a boozy affair, I’m not sure if this is a local tradition of Newcastle but we were certainly very ‘relaxed’ – and full – by the end of it.
We had our first evening event recently. A group of 27 workers who, after a hard day’s conference, needed to relax, eat and enjoy the evening in York. They enjoyed four stops with food and alcohol and behaved themselves impeccably. If any of you out there would like to organise a similar ‘do’ then do get in touch, we would be happy to arrange an event for you.
Yorkshire Appetite’s tours have been very popular since we reopened in May and a big thank you to all of you who have visited us. We are now looking for another guide either in Harrogate or York to work on an occasional freelance basis. If you are interested or know someone who is, do get in touch for more details. We all love our jobs guiding and can tell you it is a great job, mostly because you get to meet such great and interesting people and we always learn something new from our visitors!
Don’t forget – gift vouchers for the tours make great Christmas presents as do our YORKSHIRE GOODIE BOXES. Have a look here!
